AV Systems Completes Church of the Holy Faith Sound System Installation
March, 2003 AV Systems has completed the installation of
a Bose sound system in the sanctuary of the Church of the Holy Faith in
Santa Fe. The system provides for recording of services and sound reinforcement
for the pastor and others leading the services in the sanctuary.
Churches pose difficult acoustical problems when designing and implementing
high quality sound reinforcement systems. The significance of the Church
of the Holy Faith system is that it is the first system in which AV Systems
has used the new Bose MA-12 line array speakers which were designed specifically
for use in churches and other long, highly reverberant meeting spaces.
When used with the Bose signal processing and power amplifiers, the MA-12
line array allows control of the sound pattern from the speakers in order
to direct the sound at the audience and reduce unwanted sound reflections
from walls, ceiling and floors. This installation uses two MA-12 speakers,
one on either side of the front wall of the audience portion of the sanctuary.
The system is also used to record church services and the recording equipment
shares the six Shure wired and wireless microphones used with the sound
system. The recording and sound reinforcement systems have separate mixers
and EQ units so that the sound levels for each function can be independently
optimized. The sound system also provides additional microphone inputs
that can be used for music or special activities in the sanctuary.

AV Systems Completes Lannan Foundation Meeting Room Multimedia System
February, 2003 AV Systems has completed the installation
and configuration of the sound, video, computer projection and network
system for the new meeting hall at the Lannan Foundation offices in Santa
Fe.
The system permits the organization to project video and computer content
on a custom eight foot electric wall screen at the front of the room.
Content and media sources include a CD changer, AM/FM Tuner, VCR, DVD,
Cable TV, local computer, the Lannan network server and the Internet.
The sound system uses Bose ceiling mount speakers, Shure UHF wireless
microphones and a TOA Electronics mixer/amplifier.
All video sources are processed by an Extron video scaler which digitizes
the video and scales it up to the XGA computer resolution of the room's
2000 lumen Proxima LCD projector. The projector is hung in a glass enclosure
located above the rear entrance door to the room and is equipped with
a special long throw zoom lens. A Kramer Electronics audio/video switcher
is used for selection and routing of audio, video and computer input sources
to the projector and sound system.
All audio and video equipment, the local computer with its LCD monitor
and the audio mixer/amplifier are located in an equipment rack in a closet
at the rear of the room. The system LCD computer monitor is built into
the equipment rack and can also view all scaled video sources. The monitor
can be used with the computer and also to preview and cue video program
material for presentations using the VCR and DVD player.

AV Systems Acquires Bose Modeler Sound System Modeling Software
January, 2003 AV Systems, as the Santa Fe area Bose Professional
Products dealer, has acquired and is now using the Bose(R) Modeler(R)
sound system modeling and design software for more precise design of sound
systems using Bose Pro speakers, amplifiers and sound processors.
The addition of the Modeler software will simplify the design of complex
installations and permit customers to view a visual display of the performance
of various sound system configurations. The Modeler screen images are
in color and may be printed and/or projected as part of an AVS proposal
presentation.
After the room dimensions and characteristics are entered, the software
presents a three dimensional view of the room in which the sound system
is to be installed. The display can show proposed speaker locations with
a color graphic presentation of the sound intensity and intelligibility
of various Bose speaker types and placements.
AV Systems has been a Bose dealer for 10 years and in that time has installed
Bose speakers and electronics in many hotels, galleries, restaurants,
spas and other applications where customers desired Bose quality sound.
