Since its founding in 1985, AV Systems, Inc. (AVS) has grown to become
the premier audio-visual and presentation services company in Santa Fe
and Northern New Mexico. With our many years of experience and training,
AVS can provide the very latest in equipment, methods and technical support
for the most complex and demanding conference, event and presentation
support requirements.
AVS provides full design, installation and maintenance services for sound,
video and computer presentation systems for a wide range of applications
including hotel meeting rooms, community centers, corporate conference
rooms, art gallery and restaurant background music systems, museum exhibits,
churches and college lecture facilities.
Media and content services provided by AVS include audio and video recording
of meetings, concerts and events, with post meeting editing and distribution
of the finished recordings on video tape, DAT, CDs, DVDs and popular computer
file formats.
In addition to providing large screen video conferencing services at local
hotels and conference centers, AV Systems also provides facilities for
individual and small group video conferencing services on an hourly rental
basis from our comfortable and private video conferencing room located
at our offices in mid-town Santa Fe.
Business Philosophy
AV Systems works closely our client hotels and conference centers to host
meetings and events sponsored by some of the world’s largest, most
sophisticated and most demanding organizations. As the provider of the
rental equipment and technical support for these meetings, it is our responsibility
to have the latest equipment, the most reliable and competent service
delivery and the ability to give each group the personal attention they
expect and deserve. With today’s technology based meetings, we fully
understand that when the technology succeeds the meeting succeeds.
Ownership and Management
AV Systems is a New Mexico corporation owned and managed by Robert Wickham
and Carole Ely. Bob Wickham holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Economics
and prior to moving to Santa Fe was in management of product development
and marketing with several high technology companies in California. He
has taught management, marketing and economics at local colleges and is
involved with local business, arts and economic development activities.
Carole Ely holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, worked
on Wall Street as a portfolio analyst and bond trader and was a founder
of one of the early personal computer companies. Her community interests
and activities are in support of the arts and museums.
Technical Staff
The AV Systems technical staff are mature and highly trained professionals
with many years of experience with the wide range of equipment and services
necessary to support the needs of sophisticated corporate meetings. All
members of the senior technical staff have been with the company for 8
to 10 years, have completed technical and media classes at local colleges
and know how to work well with stressed meeting managers and nervous presenters.
Our technicians have many hours of training in computers and networks
and are highly competent in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
This training and experience allows them to easily handle complex meeting
room setups and to help customers with computer problems that are well
beyond just connecting a computer to our projector. We frequently help
presenters find lost files, modify presentations, download files to their
computer or install software and wireless networks as necessary for them
to have a successful meeting experience.
Memberships and Licenses
AV Systems is a member of the National System Contractors Association
(NSCA), The International Communication Industries Association (ICIA),
the Santa Fe County Chamber of Commerce. AVS is a New Mexico Corporation
and holds New Mexico low voltage contractors license number 82456.
